Why are there different sized cue sticks?

Not everyone has the perfect sized room for their table. Often times there is a wall that is too close or a lally column that would obstruct game-play with a 58” cue. At this point a shorter cue will be necessary.

How often should the cloth be replaced?

This really depends on how often the table is used. The average time for casual home use is about 5 years.

Can I move the pool table myself?

Can you? Yes. Should you? No! Attempting to move the table yourself could, at the very least, interrupt the seam in the slate. At the very worst you could damage the table slate, aprons, frame, or yourself! Most quality tables must be completely disassembled, moved in pieces, and then reassembled and leveled. Call the professionals here at Northeast Billiards instead.

How do I know if my cushions need to be replaced?

Your cushions are made of rubber. This rubber overtime can harden which diminishes the playability of your pool table. The sound of a thud or lack of response when struck with a ball is a sign your cushions are dead and need to be replaced.

Does the felt need to be replaced when moving a pool table?

No. The billiard cloth (aka felt) can usually be reused if it has been removed carefully and has not been re-stretched more than two times before (except worsted cloth). Remember that any tiny nicks or small tears in the cloth will get slightly larger and more noticeable when re-stretched onto the slate bed, and re-felting at the time of your move or setup can save you around $100 in labor.
